HGSK Sponsors Leadership Breakfast

Posted By Haggerty, Goldberg, Schleifer & Kupersmith, P.C.
On Friday, January 29, 2016, HGSK partner and Reading Managing Attorney John Beichert addressed a group of community leaders at a Berks County United Way “Blueprint for Leadership” breakfast. Mr. Beichert discussed the value of community involvement and congratulated the recent graduates of this valuable United Way program, which was designed in 2013 as a training opportunity for individuals representing the diversity of our community.
The Blueprint for Leadership program strives to help participants develop the skills needed to serve in a leadership role with a local nonprofit. During the six-week training course, participants focus on communication and leadership skills, roles and responsibilities of nonprofit committee or board members, and nonprofit board governance. Participants are selected on the basis of their professional experience, current community engagement and/or related goals, and demonstrated leadership ability. After graduation from the program, participants are placed on nonprofit boards, where they directly assist organizations in improving performance and increasing their impact on the community.
