We are pleased to announce that our very own Attorney James C. Haggerty was recently appointed by the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania to serve on the Disciplinary Board. Our legal team at Haggerty, Goldberg, Schleifer & Kupersmith, P.C. is proud of Mr. Haggerty’s recent appointment and would like to congratulate him for this accomplishment.
About the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania
In Pennsylvania, the court system is structured in a pyramid form, with the Supreme Court presiding over the following:
- Superior Court
- Commonwealth Court
- Courts of Common Pleas
- Minor Courts
Because the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania is considered the most powerful court in the state, Mr. Haggerty’s new position on the Disciplinary Board will provide him with extensive knowledge and skills regarding all courts throughout the state.
As part of this team, Mr. Haggerty will be responsible for handling and hearing cases involving lawyers who have been accused of non-feasance or misfeasance while handling legal matters on behalf of their clients. To remedy such cases, the Disciplinary Board recommends actions and punishments to the Supreme Court with respect to offending lawyers.
